Description
Birmingham Botanical Gardens Art Print.
Designed in 1829, Birmingham Botanical Gardens house over 7000 different plants from around the world, such as vividly-coloured Peruvian lilies which frame the illustration. The glasshouses include tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean and arid plants, namely cacti and aloe vera. The white iron domes of the Aviary sit on the south-east of the lawn, while a Grade II-listed 19th Century bandstand can be seen to the west. Beyond the nearby artificial stone fountain, the gardens are brought to life with exotic birds, Japanese Koi Carp and Butterfly House.
