Great Western Arcade, Birmingham Christmas charity card.
Illustrated Christmas scene featuring Great Western Arcade, Birmingham. The design features an illustrated Christmas tree scene including a steam train, with a livery inspired by Great Western Railway, scaling the tree towards Snow Hill Station. Built over the top of a railway tunnel in 1875-6, The Great Western Company developed the arcade as a link between Moor Street and Snow Hill stations.
Within the Great Western Arcade scene, the design Includes retro Christmas displays inspired by 1950s and 1960s Birmingham with toy shop and boulangerie facades. The scene left to right spans several decades of a relationship between a boy and a visually impaired girl enjoying the jingling bells at Moor Street station. Visiting years later, the couple are drawn towards the wonderful scent of a bakery.
With this charity card, Milan Illustrator proudly supports Guide Dogs and will be donating 10% of each sale to a wonderful charity who celebrated 85 years in 2019.
