Famed for its Brutalist presence, Birmingham Central Library spanned 1974-2013 and is immortalised in the rain-glazed reflection of Centenary Square.
Replaced in the same year by the Library of Birmingham and featuring a façade inspired by the city’s Jewellery Quarter, the new library is one of the biggest public libraries in the world.
